SixBlocks solution has developed a software platform for the huge problem of managing change in the complex software landscape of companies. When we started supporting founder Joost de Wit at Brightlands, he thought in technical solutions, but very quickly developed into an entrepreneur by focusing on the problems of the customer.
This led to the creation of an excellent team, the establishment of good partnerships and the start-up of the company. SixBlocks solution is a company with the potential to scale up to a fast-growing scale-up.

At the Ten Raede Group, we deal with it on a daily basis: the complex ICT landscape in our SME consultancy services. Per customer, an average of 15 to 20 different systems are in use. These are often poorly linked and often contain contradictory data.
This was the starting point for us before embarking on the Essentials programme of SixBlocks solution. Right from the start, this inspiring programme focused not on systems but specifically on business processes. The intensive discussions, the different way of thinking and the passion of the Essentials programme of SixBlocks are particularly inspiring to quickly create an integral plan for all SME consultancy processes. As a strategic and tactical management consultant, I too often experience that complexity and lack of coherence of ICT systems are impediments. This makes the implementation of new strategies, adaptation to legislation, or changing customer needs complicated and costly. And mergers and acquisitions often make the complexity even greater.
The solution to these issues is to create a total overview and coherence of the IT processes and administrative organisation (customers, services/products, systems and all business processes). That sounds simple, but in practice it turns out to be very difficult.
Through my network and the Brightlands campus, I came into contact with SixBlocks solution. SixBlocks has developed its own methodological approach to this issue with its ‘Essentials programme’. During inspiring knowledge sessions with the management and specialists of the organisation, the (new) business processes and coherence around all services/products and customers are determined and translated into the ‘Business Rules Canvas’. This canvas can be seen as the ‘Business Model Canvas’, but then for all business processes.
Based on the customer sessions, the senior specialist, together with a limited number of specialists and managers from the organisation, realises the frame-work structure on the canvas plus the actual detailed translation to the business rules. This gives the customer practical insight via a trailer of the functionality and thus creates overall commitment with inspiration for everyone.
The Essentials programme has been implemented in practice and its power has been proven. The results are applicable within the IT and process organisation (existing or new) and provide insight and cohesion of the internal business processes, efficiency and cost reduction.
As a strategic and tactical management consultant, this is the reason for me to further introduce this methodology to my business partners (consultancy and project management organisations) in the financial and services sector. To support the further roll-out of this powerful ‘Business Rules Canvas’ model in cooperation with these business partners.
